Privacy Policy

Effective date: 29 September 2026 · Applies to the Find My Solana Android app (package com.findmysolana), version 0.4.0 and later.

In short

Find My Solana does not collect, store, share or sell any personal data. It listens for the word “Solana” on your phone only. Nothing you say is recorded, saved or sent anywhere. The app does not even have permission to use the internet.

1. How the microphone is used

When you turn listening on, the app uses the microphone to detect the wake word “Solana”, so it can ring your phone when you can't find it.

2. Data we collect

None. The app has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting service and no tracking of any kind. Because it has no internet permission, it cannot transmit data off your device.

3. Data stored on your device

The app keeps only its own settings in the app's private storage on your phone: whether listening is on, your alert choices (sound, vibration, flash, voice), chosen alarm tone, volume, sensitivity and auto-stop options. If you pick a sound from your phone, the app stores a reference to that sound (not a copy). These settings are excluded from cloud backups and device transfers, and are deleted when you uninstall the app.

4. Permissions and why they are needed

PermissionWhy
MicrophoneTo hear the wake word “Solana”, processed on the device only.
Foreground service (microphone)To keep listening while the screen is off or the app is in the background, with a visible notification.
NotificationsFor the “listening” notification, the alarm notification with its Stop button, and reminders.
Full-screen alertsTo show the “I'M HERE!” screen over the lock screen when the alarm rings. The lock screen is not unlocked.
VibrationTo vibrate when the alarm rings.
Run at startupOnly to show a “tap to resume listening” reminder after the phone restarts. Android does not let apps turn the microphone on by themselves.

The flashlight is used through Android's torch feature, which needs no camera permission. The app does not request access to your camera, location, contacts, messages, photos, files or accounts, and it never accesses crypto wallets, private keys or seed phrases.

5. Other software on your phone

If you enable the voice response, the app asks your phone's own text-to-speech engine (for example Google Speech Services, already installed on your phone) to say the fixed phrase “I'm here!”. Only that phrase is passed to it. The text-to-speech engine is provided by its own developer and governed by their privacy policy.

If you downloaded the app from a store such as the Solana dApp Store, that store may process data about your download under its own privacy policy. Find My Solana receives none of that information.

6. Children

The app collects no personal data from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country).

7. Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete. All app data stays on your phone and is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its storage in Android settings.

8. Changes to this policy

If a future version changes how the app handles data (for example, if an optional online feature is added), this page will be updated before that version is released, and the effective date above will change.
